Google Backlink Update October 20, 2005

Looks like Google is updating backlinks. I’ve noticed an increase of backlinks on several different sites, as well as PageRank being assigned to new recently added web pages. For more information on backlinks and how to check how many your site has see this Google Webmaster Center blog post.

Yahoo! Site Explorer is now live (Beta) along with a couple Site Explorer APIs to play around with. Yahoo Cached Pages

Yahoo now features Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) links on their cache pages. To view this new feature simply click on the cache link located under the title and description of a search listing, then click the check the Internet Archive link to view previous versions of a web page. Ask Jeeves Plans its own PPC service

Google Sitemaps Beta

Google launches a new beta service called Google Sitemaps. This new service allows you to keep in constant communication with Googles crawlers informing them of recent changes to your site, defining your sites structure, etc.

A new service by Google has been launched that provides users a personalized homepage where you can add several features offered by Google. Features include the ability to add Gmail, Google News, stock quotes, weather, Google maps, and others to your personalized homepage. Google Adsense for Feeds

Google launches a new beta program called Adsense for Feeds. This new program will allow publishers to place ads in the syndications. To qualify for the beta program you must have at least 100 active subscribers to participate. Yahoo Launches Personalized Web Search
